Preparation

Mary and Martha

(Luke 10:38-42)

Preparations were carried out

for the arrival of their friend Jesus.

Busyness was all Martha knew,

so the meal was her offering of love and devotion.

Mary, on the other hand,

prepared a heart – her heart - for His visit.

When Jesus arrived she wasted no time

in finding a place at His feet.

Mary’s heart was prepared.

Martha’s meal was prepared.

Mary offered herself to Jesus.

Martha offered her meal to Jesus.

Which was more important?
