Fear and Love

Change of Ownership

The past owner kept the windows closed,

never allowing the outside world in.

A “No Visitor” sign was posted outside.

But today all the windows are open

and a welcoming breeze wafts

into each room.

Old friends begin to arrive at the residence,

moving freely,

enjoying the warmth of hospitality.

Neighbors heard that after Fear sold the dwelling

she slyly asked to rent a room.

But Love made it clear --

fear was no longer welcome in this home.

Surrendering Passion

With heart in hand

she dumped the pumping,

bloody organ

into his outstretched hands.

He slowly walked to the car,

his steps in sync

with the pulsing beat

of the heart.

Why was it so easy to get this

stranger to surrender

her heart of passion?

Sin Hides

Sin Hides

Sin runs for cover

like the frantic scattering of cockroaches

when a light is turned on.

Don’t relent, God.

Press into me;

cause those cockroaches of rebellion

to be exposed,

unable to run for cover.

Exterminate them by Your grace.
