Prayer of Brennan Manning

Lord Jesus, we are silly sheep who have dared to stand before You and try to bribe You with our preposterous portfolios.  Suddenly we have come to our senses.  We are sorry and ask You to forgive us.  Give us the grace to admit we are ragamuffins, to embrace our brokenness, to celebrate Your mercy when we are at our weakest, to rely on Your mercy no matter what we may do. . .

Who's the Boss?

Who’s the Boss?

Who’s the boss of your life
day in and day out?
Who dictates reaction,
the anger, the pout?

Do emotions rule over
your desire to obey
so that willingness is absent
even to pray?

The boss of your life
reveals who's in control
and whether God is the one
your life does extol.

Submit to Him now
and obey His command
to relinquish your will
and welcome His hand.

A poet is someone who stands outside in the rain,
hoping to be struck by lightning.

Servant Leading

A definition of servant leadership:
the art of playing
second fiddle.
