Wisdom

Wisdom

Wisdom calls out;
I turn her volume down
by allowing background voices to predominate.

She stubbornly plants herself at the entrance to my world.
How can I avoid her call
when she is so insistent?

But I have a busy day.
Other items of interest beg for my attention,
things that make me feel important,
valued.

I realize she is the voice of reason,
but who wants to slow down,
 to listen to her words?

Her message is depressing,
discouraging,
convicting.

I make my choice.
I move on.
Another day and maybe I'll take the time . . .
the time needed to decipher her message.
