Forgetfulness
Forgetfulness
We chide ourselves when we forget names, forget dates, forget appointments.
Do we chide ourselves when we forget You, God? When we. . .
forget Your forgiveness?
forget Your faithfulness?
forget Your love?
forget Your holiness?
forget Your mercies?
forget Your Church?

Transformation
Transformation
Fear had built the prison walls.
Hate had kept them standing.
Rage lay buried ‘neath the floor
with misery unending.
and spoke His words of freedom.
Light transformed the hate and rage
to naked truth and wisdom.

The Fog
The Fog
There's a holiness in this isolating blanket.
Walls of cloudy, moist air separate me from the future -
from miles ahead,
and even minutes, days, months, and years beyond.
What a blessing to be forced to stay
in the present.
The forecast predicts the fog to lift soon and rain to begin.
But before my nearsightedness is healed,
I'll enjoy these holy walls of separation.

Purpose
Purpose
Putting words on paper. . .
feeds a growling stomach
or
mends a broken heart.
